Windows into the World of Diagnostics
UMP JSC X-ray windows: confirmed reliability, expanding cooperation, and new perspectives.
It has been one year since UMP entered the global market of X-ray windows for medical equipment. The plant collaborates with the French company PMB SAS and the world’s largest manufacturer of medical diagnostic equipment, General Electric Healthcare LLC.
High Praise from Partners
Our partners have officially confirmed that the products successfully passed a comprehensive series of tests and meet the quality criteria required for the production of X-ray sources used in GE Healthcare CT scanners. Beryllium X-ray windows have successfully completed the production launch procedure. The parties have already begun preparing the first contract, with an expected delivery volume of about 5,000 items of various sizes.
New Perspectives
Prototypes were sent to manufacturers of mammography diagnostic equipment, which have high requirements for material quality, primarily in terms of oxide inclusions, as this directly affects the accuracy and reliability of examinations.
To meet growing demand and ensure further development, Beryllium operations plan to increase its production capacity. Among the priority measures is the replacement of grinding equipment with more modern and high-precision equipment.
A Joint Contribution to a Common Cause
The results achieved were made possible thanks to the coordinated work and high professionalism of the entire team responsible for the production and control of Beryllium products: technologists, designers, turners, EDM machine operators, grinders, QCD inspectors, packers, and many other employees.
The work on X-ray windows has demonstrated that UMP is capable of competing confidently in the global market for high-tech Beryllium products.
