A Test of Knowledge, Precision, and Character
The annual competition “Best Operator of the Hydrometallurgical Department” was held at the Beryllium Operations. Such competitions have long been an important part of plant life.
Five employees participated this year. Following tradition, the competition was held in two stages. During the theoretical stage, participants tested their knowledge of technology, occupational health and safety, and industrial and fire safety.
The practical part was close to production conditions. Contestants had to correctly describe the procedure for measuring pH, measure the pulp solution, and determine which processing stage it came from. The assessment took into account not only the correctness of the results, but also the logic of the actions performed.
Based on the final results, first place was awarded to Stepan Larionov, 4th grade operator, second place to Evgeniy Pestunov (5th grade), and third place to Nikita Bryakotin (5th grade).
