Fuel Assemblies among the Country’s Top-10 Export Commodities
Fuel assemblies fabricated by Ulba-FA LLP were among Kazakhstan’s top-10 export commodities by the end of 2025, according to Kursiv. This is a significant achievement for the country’s economy and the development of the nuclear industry.
In 2025, the plant produced 471 fuel assemblies (214.7 tons of uranium equivalent), exceeding the 2024 production of 439 assemblies. This growth was made possible by modern equipment, the development of employee competencies, and reaching design capacity.
Today, the plant employs over 200 specialists. Fuel assemblies’ production is a complex process with multi-level quality control, and the finished products are supplied to nuclear power plants in China.
According to Mr. Arman Suleimenov, General Director, the project contributes to the development of the nuclear industry, increasing the share of high-value-added products, and strengthening Kazakhstan’s position in the global market.
