NEW HORIZONS FOR BERYLLIUM PRODUCTION

Modern equipment was purchased for workshop 3A BO – machines with numerical control. These are three HYUNDAI machining centers and Mitsubishi wire-cut EDM machine.

In the metalworking department of workshop 3A BO, products and blanks are produced from structural grades of Beryllium. Until recently, all orders were carried out on metal-cutting machines manufactured in 1960-1980.Traditional technology is based on the step-by-step processing of products on several machines, for example, on one – a turning operation, on the other – milling operation. In addition, this technology requires leaving large allowances for processing, which leads to a decrease in the technical and economic indicator – yield. Morally and physically outdated machines could not provide increased processing accuracy.

New milling machines are high-precision. They allow you to perform dozens of operations, and hundreds, and maybe thousands, of possibilities. The algorithm for working on new equipment is as follows: a drawing of the product is created, the dimensions of the initial workpiece are determined, a special program is written, and the workpiece is installed. The manufacturing process takes place independently, behind glass. Everything is automatic; there are many sensors inside that control the coordinates, product size, temperature and other parameters.

The idea of technical re-equipment began to be implemented in 2019. The introduction of technological innovations will allow workshop 3 A BO to meet the increased needs of customers in the manufacture of new products of complex geometric shapes.
