UMP JSC Collective Agreement is the best!

On December 7, a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the annual republican contest on social responsibility of business Paryz-2021 took place in the capital of Kazakhstan. Ulba Metallurgical Plant took 2nd place in nomination Best Collective Agreement among large business entities.

The event, held at the EXPO Congress Center, was attended by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister Askar Mamin, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of central state bodies and enterprises of the Republic. Samrat Daulbayev, Deputy Executive Board Chairman – Strategic Development, attended the ceremony in person from UMP, and Sergey Bezhetsky, Executive Board Chairman of UMP JSC, was online.

Paryz Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the country. The competition traditionally includes four nominations: The best socially responsible enterprise, The best enterprise in the field of labor protection, The best Collective Agreement and For contribution to the environment. Within the framework of these nominations, the winners of the first, second and third places in the categories Subject of large entrepreneurship and Subject of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship are determined.

440 organizations in total have submitted applications for participation in the competition this year, 169 of which are large business entities, 271 are medium and small.

According to the results of the competition, the republican commission determined 28 winners, including Ulba Metallurgical Plant.

– The Collective Agreement of UMP JSC for 2019-2022 was recognized as one of the best at the republican level, – said Sergey Bezhetsky, Executive Board Chairman. – The plant is an example of social partnership, first of all, with its workforce. Behind this is the huge work of the employer and employees. In modern conditions, a Collective Agreement is the Charter of an enterprise, which is based on a balance of interests, health and safety of personnel, protection of workers' rights, social guarantees and care for factory workers.

The administration of the plant, in accordance with the terms of the collective agreement, additionally assumed (in addition to the rights, guarantees and benefits established by the Labor Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan) the obligations provided to employees and pensioners of the plant. Thus, the company provides social support to women who are on leave without pay for child care. In particular, 20 MCI is paid at a time when the child reaches the age of one year and 12 MCI when the child reaches the age of 1.5 years. The plant also takes care of employees (including guardians) with disabled children under the age of 18. Free of charge, once a year, funds in the amount of no more than 200,000 tenge are allocated to parents and guardians for examination, treatment and rehabilitation of children with disabilities. They are also provided with 10 calendar days of additional paid annual labor leave, once a year the cost of a voucher to the recreation centers of East Kazakhstan region is partially compensated.

Certain categories of employees can take advantage of an interest-free loan of up to 7,000,000 tenge for the purchase of housing, repayment of mortgage debt, repairs. Medical care of the staff is organized at a high level. Social support is provided to former employees of UMP JSC for rehabilitation in sanatoriums and dispensaries of East Kazakhstan region. There is a flexible system of rewarding employees for their labor merits.

In addition, Collective Agreement provides for: preferential maintenance of workers' children in the kindergarten of DO Ulbinochka LLP, compensation to employees for rest at bases/recreation centers of East Kazakhstan region, benefits to factory workers upon retirement, social support for burial to relatives of a deceased employee/former employee, payments to home front workers, WWII participants and categories equated to them for Victory Day and the Day of the Elderly, and much more.

In total, Ulba Metallurgical Plant has planned more than 380 million tenge for social support of personnel in 2021. UMP JSC, by real deeds, in accordance with the Collective Agreement, protects the rights and interests of all employees, fulfills its obligations to the collective.
