Q2 totals
Online meeting took place on August 26 concerning results of work in industrial safety during Q2 2021. Victor Tsorayev, acting Industrial Safety Director, made a report in the process of the action.
INDUSTRIAL SAFETY
No occupational diseases, emergencies and fire cases were registered in UMP JSC during Q2 according to the words of Victor Aslanbekovich. However, the accident had been registered on Beryllium Operations which resulted in a harm to a worker health. At the moment the plant worker completed a course of treatment in the East-Kazakhstan regional rehabilitation center. Now he is at home, continuing his rehabilitation. His state is stable without complication.
Victor Aslanbekovich gave an information about implementation of «Comprehensive plan for improvement of conditions, labor safety and sanitary measures» for 2021. 51 measures were performed in 3 months and required over KZT 20,000,000. As a result, the labor conditions were improved for 1,027 workers and the injury risk was decreased for 105 workers.
A special attention in the report of Victor Tsorayev was paid to the health and safety (HSE) inspections. 14 commission inspections were conducted during the reporting period. 260 breaches were found in the course of the inspections (120 of them are eliminated and 85 are in the process of eliminating).
7 planned inspections are conducted by industrial safety group specialists as well. 21 breaches are found, 16 of them are eliminated and 5 are in the process of eliminating.
ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
The environmental emission limits established by Authorized State Agency on the Environment Protection were not exceeded by all UMP subdivisions over a period of three months of Q2. The emissions of the polluting substances to the atmosphere – 52.6%, discharge of the polluting substances: to the Ulba River – 75.5%, to the ground of Karadzhal mine area – 48.6%.
The controlled values of radiatively hazardous factors of the plant are below the control levels established at the enterprise. Radiation accidents and emergencies are not registered.
CORONAVIRUS SITUATION
Victor Aslanbekovich noticed that 25 cases of COVID-19 disease were registered at UMP during reporting period. Total amount of diseased at the plant from January 1 to August 25, 2021– 358 persons, 346 of them recovered, 2 fatal cases and 10 persons are on sick leave. The number of vaccinated persons on August, 25 is 2,718 workers which is 72.9% of the total number of UMP workers (2,242 workers completed full vaccination course – 60.2%. The information is valid as per August 26).
Sergey Bezhetskiy, UMP board chairman addressed to the meeting members. He noticed that for today the rate of vaccinated workers at our plant is the lowest in comparison with the other industrial companies of Ust-Kamenogorsk. He underlined that vaccination is an obligatory condition for disease statistics decrease and restrictive measures cancellation. Also, he noticed that all possible actions are taken at the plant to ensure safety work for the workers.
