Appointment
On September 2, 2021, Galymzhan Pirmatov left the post of Chairman of National Atomic Company Kazatomprom JSC Board at his own request. Mazhit Sharipov who previously held the position of Chief Director of NFC, was appointed Chairman of the Board of NAC.
Mazhit Sharipov
Born in 1964.
In 1988, he graduated from Obninsk Institute of Atomic Energy, Faculty of Nuclear Power Plants and Installations with a degree in Thermal Power Engineering.
He began his career in 1988 in Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakh SSR as an Engineer of Experimental Reactor Plant Operation Service.
From 1992 to 2008, he worked in various positions at the Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, later transformed into the Atomic Energy Committee of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From December 2008 through 2013, he worked as a Director of Department of Atomic Energy and Industry in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From August 2013 through October 2014 – Chairman of Atomic Energy Committee of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He started his career in NAC Kazatomprom JSC in September 2015 as a Director of NFC Projects Department.
In July 2017, he was appointed Managing Director of tNFC and Nuclear Energy Division, later transformed into Managing Director for NFC.
From January 2021 until present, he has been Chief Director for NFC of NAC Kazatomprom JSC.
Since April 25, 2021, he has been a member of NAC Kazatomprom JSC Board.

The Board of Directors and management team of Kazatomprom also expressed gratitude to Galymzhan Pirmatov for his work for the prosperity of the company. Neil Longfellow, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazatomprom, noted that due to his leadership qualities and many years of managerial experience, Mr. Pirmatov played a crucial role in implementation of the company's development strategy aimed at creating long-term market value, over the past four years his knowledge and experience have contributed to strengthening the company's development and its reputation, which led to successful initial public offering (IPO) at London and Astana Stock Exchanges in 2018.
In response, Galymzhan Olzhayevich expressed deep gratitude to the country's leadership for trust and the opportunity for effective management of the company and the entire Kazatomprom team:

Mazhit Sharipov who held various positions in Kazatomprom since 2015, has more than 31 years of experience in various positions in public service and in private sector, including the positions of Director of the Department of Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Industry of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Department of Atomic Energy and Industry of Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Chairman of Atomic Energy Committee.
