The head of the state has visited the village Predgornoye, Glubokovskiy region, the professional vocational school No. 1, Ust-Kamenogorsk, the Joint-Stock Company “Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Integrated Works”. Speaking about industrial development of the region as a whole, Mr. Nazarbayev marked the role of Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC in the innovative development of the country:
During acquaintance with the work of professional vocational school No. 1 that trains the regular labor force including that for our enterprise, Mr. N. Nazarbayev has addressed the pupils as follows:
Today, many enterprises of the region wait for graduates of the vocational school. UMP and this educational institution are connected with the old partner relations. The youth passes its production practice at our site, and representatives of the plant take part in training experts needed for the enterprise and, participating in promotion examinations, select the best ones, inviting them to UMP.
Now, about hundred graduates of the vocational school, such as electricians, turners, electro-gas welders, assemblers of ventilation systems and dressers work in various divisions of the enterprise. This June, the vocational school No.1 had the first release of the pupils who have received qualification "operator-hydrometallurgist". 11 young workers from this class have been recruited as workers of beryllium and tantalum productions of the Ulba plant.
Cooperation between UMP JSC and the vocational school assumes the further improvement of the system of training of qualified working personnel on those professions that are required for the plant. Such activity promotes both the strengthening of personnel potential of the industrial enterprises of the region, and improvement of the system of the professional and vocational training: the up-to-date hi-tech productions cannot do without competent and skilful experts.
The President talked to the Director General of Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC, Mr. Mussin, director of TOO "Vostokpromenergomontazh", Mr. Anatoly Tunnikov, director of JSC "Vostokmashzavod”, Mr. Leonid Berdus and director of the regional association of professional builders, Mr. Igor Shatskiy on the organization of such useful interaction, the future of vocational training and the role to be played by the interested structures in its development. The head of the state has highly appreciated the personnel potential of the vocational school, the system of training of young workers, the revival of patronage of industrial enterprises on the educational institution.
