UMP management policy on tantalum raw material supply

Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC is the company producing Tantalum and Niobium products. Understanding the necessity in the establishment of the legal and ethical raw material supply chain, UMP JSC purchases material from the proved and reliable sources (mineral Tantalum concentrate, Tantalum hydroxide, and also Tantalum scrap from the manufacturers of sputtering targets and tantalum capacitors). The ethical origin of material is confirmed by the correspondent documents and conforms to all international governmental and non-governmental requirements to materials in conflict.

The main goal of our policy on Tantalum raw material supply is as follows:
- maintaining the image of UMP JSC in the world arena;
- avoiding Tantalum materials that are suspected to have the origin of regions in conflict from the process of purchasing Tantalum materials.

The above goals could succeed through:
- the compliance with EICC Code of Behavior and following the principles and aspects for processing the raw materials as specified in this Code;
- public censure of activity as linked to illegal mineral resources extraction;
- thorough study of information and documents on tantalum raw material proposed to be purchased in relation to its origin, and its environmental security (belonging to Class 7 of hazard);
- following the EICC policy on monitoring Tantalum supply chain in order to avoid the materials in conflict and following the principles of transparency for all transactions relating to Tantalum raw material purchase;
- strict compliance with the rules on transporting hazardous materials, including Tantalum raw material belonging to Class 7 of hazard.

Present Policy is associated with standard operation procedures of Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC and communicated to all employees, raw material suppliers and end users of Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC.

UMP JSC management takes the responsibility for the implementation of the policy on Tantalum raw material supply and intention to comply with its regulations.
