Uranium facility of Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC is one of the world largest complex producers of fuel for nuclear power plants. A unique technology developed by our specialists provides for highly efficient processing of not only traditional types of raw materials but hard to digest uranium containing materials as well, such as ash, insoluble residues, including those containing burning-out absorbers (Erbium and Gadolinium). The existing technology is universal in its possibility to process reprocessed raw materials as uranyl nitrate.

The half-century experience in the market of uranium containing material processing under tight state control, high staff qualification make possible to manufacture products meeting any requirements of customers.
The use of advanced processes and equipment and automated management systems allows to operatively monitor the process and, if necessary, make corrections in the fully automated operations excluding the contact of operators with uranium containing materials and their products.
Uranium production of Ulba Metallurgical Plant JSC is the first Kazakhstan facility with the quality assurance system certified as per ISO-9001:2000.
Production activities of Uranium Division of “Ulba Metallurgical Plant” JSC meet world environmental requirements and implemented environment management system is certified in accordance with ISO 14001: 2004 standard
In 1999 our facility was certified by General Electric (USA) as a supplier of Uranium Dioxide ceramic powder to the US local market. Today the products of Uranium Division (uranium dioxide powders and fuel pellets) are being certified at the companies that are the leading producers of nuclear fuel in the world: General Electric (US, Canada, Japan), Westinghouse (US, Sweden), AREVA (France), NFI (Japan) and MNF (Japan).
