A unique technology developed by Ulba Metallurgical Plant specialists provides for highly efficient processing of not only traditional types of feed materials but hard-to-recover uranium-containing materials, such as ash, insoluble residues, including those containing burning-out absorbers (Erbium and Gadolinium). The uniqueness of existing process is in the capability to process all kinds of uranium-containing feed materials, including reprocessed uranium, into the product that meets highest requirements of the Customer specifications.

The half-century experience in the market of uranium-containing material processing under tight state control, high staff qualification make possible to manufacture products meeting any requirements of customers.
The use of advanced processes, equipment and automated management systems allows monitoring the process in most efficient way and, if necessary, make corrections in the fully automated mode excluding the contact of operators with uranium-containing materials and final products.
Production activities of Uranium Division of “Ulba Metallurgical Plant” JSC meet world environmental requirements. Implemented environment management system is certified in accordance with ISO 14001: 2004.
Uranium division of “Ulba Metallurgical Plant” JSC is the first Kazakhstan facility with the quality assurance system certified as per international standards.
In 1998 Uranium division was certified by General Electric (USA) as a supplier of Uranium Dioxide ceramic powder to the US market. Today the products of Uranium Division (uranium dioxide powders and fuel pellets) are being certified at the companies that are the leading producers of nuclear fuel in the world: General Electric (US, Canada, Japan), Westinghouse (US, Sweden), AREVA (France), CJNF (China) and CGNPC-URC (China), NFI (Japan) and MNF (Japan).
