Policy of UMP JSC management in the field of health protection & labor safety

UMP JSC as being a manufacturer of high-technology Uranium, Beryllium, Tantalum and Niobium products to the needs of nuclear energy, electronics and metallurgical industries, and other fields of activities, aims to take the dominating positions in the market of these products by orienting its activity on long-term original needs of consumers, personnel, shareholders and the whole society.

We should become a field leader in the field of health protection and labor safety.

By the full understanding of the fact that our products and technological processes may have a significant influence on health and protection of our employees, we aim, based on type and range of activity of UMP JSC, to minimize their negative influence and continue to eliminate the level of industrial injuries and diseases.

Also, we should eliminate the adverse effects on population, managing the risks in the field of health protection and labor safety.

When implementing the plans to achieve these goals, participation of all UMP JSC employees becomes important. Thus, the management will provide a motivation in order to attract the employees to take part in the process on implementing and operation of management system on health protection and labor safety.

We will be governed by the principle of priority of employees living and health, rather than the results of production activity.

We shall provide our employees and other parties concerned with all the necessary information regarding UMP JSC activity in the field of health protection and labor safety, and also we will make our suppliers and contractors to follow the same approach.

UMP JSC management enters into a commitment to follow these principles and aims to:

• perform a production activity in accordance with the acting law, international agreements, state, field and corporate regulatory requirements on health protection and labor safety, industrial safety of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• provide a permanent training and development for the personnel in the field of health protection and labor safety;
• analyze systematically the incidents, which occur in other organizations in order to develop and implement the preventive measures oriented on health protection and labor safety;
• eliminate the current level of risks in the field of health protection and labor safety by improving the technological processes, upgrading the equipment, and improving the production process;
• arrange an effecting preventive work to eliminate the level of industrial injuries and improve its degree;
• establish contacts and consider the opinion and requirements of the concerned parties with regards to issues on health protection and labor safety;
• follow this Policy while making any decisions and provide all the necessary resources that are required for its realization;
• perform systematic inspections and assessment of activity efficiency in the field of health protection and labor safety;
• maintain the management system on health protection and labor safety in the operation condition.

UMP JSC management takes the responsibility for realization of this policy, to deliberately and inviolately follow its provisions, continuously improve the management system on health protection and labor safety, and invokes each employee to this point.
